What Personal Data We Collect & Why

1. Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, along with their IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymous string (hash) generated from your email may be sent to Gravatar to verify its use. See Gravatar’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible in the context of your comment.

2. Media

If you upload images to the website or send them via email, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors can extract this information from images on the site.

3. Contact Form

When you contact us via our Contact Us page, we collect:

  • Name, email, phone number, subject, and message text
  • IP address and user agent string (used for spam detection)

Your personal data is retained only for communication purposes and is not shared with third parties.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience, so you don’t need to re-enter details next time. These cookies last for one year.

If you log in, we set temporary cookies to check if your browser accepts cookies. Login cookies last for two days, display settings cookies last one year, and if you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks.

Editing or publishing an article will store an additional cookie (not containing personal data), which expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.), which behaves the same way as if you visited the external website directly. These websites may collect data, use cookies, track interactions, and monitor engagement, especially if logged into their platform.

How Long We Retain Your Data

  • Comments are stored indefinitely to allow automatic approval for future replies.
  • Registered users can view, modify, or delete personal information at any time (except for usernames).
  • Website administrators also manage user information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or left comments, you can request:

  • An exported file with your data
  • Deletion of all your personal data (excluding legally required records)

Data Transfer & Protection

  • Visitor comments may be checked through an automatic spam detection service.

  • Our admin access is secured with two-factor authentication, server-side protections, and SSL encryption for secure browsing.

Preventing Data Breaches

Our site and server are continuously monitored and updated. If a security breach occurs, we will notify affected users as soon as possible.
